The Peony Project: What Advent Means to Me

By 12:00 AM , , ,

'Tis the Season!

I just love the holidays. I love how cozy it feels. That's the best way I can describe it: cozy. Hot chocolate. Twinkling lights. Sweaters. Cable Knit. Cuddles.

This holiday season I joined a devotion group through the app: She Reads Truth. My friend, Hana, showed me this app a few weeks ago and I have fallen deeply in love. SRT does themed devotionals to their entire community. They even have beautiful devotional journals you can purchase that accompany the theme. I have yet to try one of those since I recently jumped on the bandwagon, but I most certainly will be getting one soon!

This month's devotional is appropriately themed, "Oh Come Let Us Adore Him" and speaks directly to the Advent season. Yet, that is a perfect transition to this month's link-up prompt through The Peony Project.

The Peony Project is a community for women who love Jesus, love blogging, and are looking for a common space to share ideas, encourage one another, and make real, honest friendships with one another.

TPP has asked us to share what the Advent season means to each one of us and the answer came straight from a SRT devotional a few days ago.

Advent to me describes PROMISE. Promises that God always fulfills. Promises that instill HOPE.

When God makes a promise in our lives, he will always keep his promise. It may not be to our timing. It may not be what we were expecting, but it happens. God promised a Savior and he fulfilled, oh he fulfilled.
