Be Weird!
c/o of Northrock Church |
Second: M&I have been trying out many different churches in the San Antonio area. This past weekend, we visited Northrock Church. Now, I haven't really dug into my faith too much here on R2R and just mentioning it here on the blog makes me a bit nervous. It makes me nervous that people may think of me differently or stop following along.
However, that is what the message this past weekend spoke to: being weird! Acknowledging my love for Jesus Christ is easy for me when talking person to person, but when I have an audience without a face and missing the opportunity to read their reaction is a bit daunting. So here it is: a public acknowledgement of choosing to follow Jesus and identify that I am NOT perfect, nor can I achieve perfection on my own. I need Jesus to understand unmerited favor or grace, to treat others with the love and kindness of a perfect Savior, and to overcome my struggles.
Jesus has truly changed my life. Many people have known me to be insecure, angry, or unapproachable and having that persona absolutely crushed me in college. I wasn't sure how to change it and have others see the real me; the big hearted, want to see you succeed, biggest fan Eryn that I feel that I am.
About one year ago, my friends at Northwest church brought me back to Christ. They introduced me to lovely friends who truly loved me for who I was and wanted to see me overcome the negative self-image that I projected. I am so glad that I was brought back to a life with Christ and can only hope that I have given off this new light to the people that I have met.
This blog is an outlet to keep my friends and family in the loop of M&I's lives. Thanks for riding along :)

So proud of you for steeping out of your comfort zone and going where you are called to go - To Share the good news about how Christ is changing you from the inside out! It is a long (and difficult) journey and full transformation will come when we finally hear him say, Well Done Good and Faithful Servant! Listening to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0vKeICJBMI and thinking of you! Let your light shine!
